Chief...

Last weekend I discovered that this beauty, a 1947 Chief, was up for sale not too far away - and to a very fair price indeed. Was I tempted? Oh, yes. Was my good friend Haze tempted? Oh, yes. Unfortunately/luckily (?) the beast was sold already on tuesday:

I really hope the new owner is a happy man...

Wintertimes...

Winter is here. There's lots of snow and salt on the roads. It's really no time for riding the old bike. So what can you do?... Here's a couple of minor occupations while waiting for the early spring.

Even there was no real troubles with "the uncle" last season, actually no troubles at all for over 3000 miles, things can always be a little better. The bushings in the main geararm was pretty worn and the gearchange therefore a little sluggish - and over time and kilometers it just starts to irritate you. So I've got new bushings in the main geararm and it's now ready to be mounted again. Looking forward to a more tight and responsive gearchange this coming season:

Even that it's freaky cold outside now, I actually still do remember very warm summerdays on the road. So I have cut up one of the old denimjackets for these hot days:

Wintertime is also reading time. Just refound this fine, old book from 1948 in the shelves:

A couple of pages from inside the "bible":

Now, lets have some springtime soon!...
